Fluidization of Agglomerating Particles - Influence of the Gas Temperature and Composition on the Fluidization of a Li/MgO Catalyst
An experimental study has been carried out on the fluidization of a Li/MgO catalyst under conditions typically used in the methane oxidative coupling process. The minimum fluidization velocity has been estimated in the 700-900 degrees C temperature range and compared with the measured values. The effect of particle cohesion upon the minimum fluidization velocity has been studied, and the agglomeration has been related to the presence of a partially melted pool of carbonates on the catalyst surface.
