One of the General Electric (GE) MS7001FA gas turbines at Florida Poa er & Light Co.'s Martin Station has established a new record for F technology machines by completing an operating run of 203 consecutive days. Martin Station combined-cycle Units 3 and 4 each have two GE 7FAs and a GE steam turbine,. Over a recent six-month period,, Unit 3, which contains the record-setting machine, achieved a 99.1 percent availability, while Unit 4 recorded 94.1 percent availability,; including a planned outage for each unit. These units were part of a 1994 plant expansion that added more than 900 MW to the station's total output. The project was the first application of GE's 7FA gas turbines.
