DTA and Kinetic Parameters of Carbonates
We report the calibration factors of Differential Thermal Analysis Apparatus for the determination of heat of reaction by means of "micro-packing technique", and kinetic parameters, such as activation energy of reaction (E) and order of reaction (n), for the decomposition of sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, and calcium carbonate by the method we have developed, whereby both E and n can be directly obtained.
The results indicate that the calibration factor versus temperature is linear, and kinetic parameters agree very well with the data obtained by the dynamic thermogravimetric analysis method.
