Deactivation of catalysts for ammonia production from natural gas.
Process of catalysts' deactivation used for production of synthesis gas and ammonia has been investigated. Poisoning with sulfur and chlorine were the main reason of this phenomenon. Thermal deactivation and blocking of the catalyst surface by carbon black and dust have been found less important. Catalysts for methane reforming and low temperature carbon monoxide conversion with steam have been thoroughly investigated because of their key role in the process of synthesis gas production.
