Methyl esters of fatty acids as basis for fabric softeners.
There has been developed the synthesis of disodium salts of R-oxyethylene ester of sulfosuccinic acid from methyl esters of fatty acids (products of methanolysis of residual animal fats), etyhylene glycol, maleic anhydrate and sodium sulfate. Produced disodium sale was used as the main component of the hydrophilic and softening agent for fabric and sponge cloth products and revealed very advantageous properties (soft touch, suitable water absorption and wettability, yellowish tinge-free).
