Studies of calcination and reduction of nickel-alumina catalysts for hydrogenation of fats.
The effect of the calcination and reduction conditions on the degree of reduction of nickel-alumina catalyst precursor for fat hydrogenation was tested. Occurrence of calcination and reduction process for selected values of hydrogen flow rate is presented as the dependence of water vapor concentration and degree of nickel oxide reduction upon temperature and time. It has been shown that the conditions of both the calcination and reduction processes had substantial impact to the precursor reduction.
