State of studies on carbon chemistry and its development trends are presented. The stress in research will be put on the increase in yield of energy production from coal while eliminating the environment pollution. Studies on the technology of special purpose materials production and on the application of the carbon chemistry achievements to the polymer and biomass waste utilization will also be carried out.
