SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYMER-IMMOBILIZED BETA-CYCLODEXTRIN WITH AN INCLUSION RECOGNITION FUNCTIONALITY
A series of beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CyD) was immobilized onto the crosslinked styrene/divinylbenzene copolymer which embedded polyglycidylmethacrylate. The resulting beta-CyD polymeric adsorbent possesses a specific inclusion recognition with the aromatic compounds. The structures and properties of the grated copolymer were characterized in detail. Their application for the adsorption of phenol and its derivatives was also assessed.
