Optimization of Various Factors for the Separation of Technetium Using Anion-Exchange Resins
A radiotracer technique was used to optimize the separation of technetium using an ion-exchange resin through the selection of a resin, the elution conditions, and the nitric acid concentration. The average recovery was 91 +/- 4% using Dowex 1-X8 resin, indicating that most of the Tc was eluted with 12 M HNO3. Analyses of the tracers were carried out by ICP-MS and gamma-ray spectrometry.
