A 100-sun linear photovoltaic solar concentrator design from inexpensive commercial components
The optical design for a high-efficiency linear photovoltaic solar concentrator assembled from readily-available inexpensive components is presented. Accounting for all geometric and material-related optical losses, we find that it should easily produce flux levels of 50-100 suns with homogeneous irradiance of the absorber. This is well suited to the peak-performance point of concentrator solar cells.
