Poly(Tetrahydrofurfryl Acrylate) as a New Host Polymer for Polymer Salt Hybrid Ionic Conductors
Ionic conductivities of a polymer-salt hybrid system using a new host polymer having pendant organic solvent moiety, poly(tetrahydrofurfryl acrylate) (PTHFA), have been studied. PTHFA is found to be completely amorphous and compatible with lithium trifluoromethane sulfonate (LiCF3SO3). The PTHFA-LiCF3SO3 hybrid system exhibits ionic conductivities of ca. 10(-6) S/cm at 100-degrees-C. The temperature dependence of ionic conductivity is found to be in accord with that of dielectric relaxation of the host polymer.
