The cited paper (Solid State Ionics, Vol. 62 (1993) 273-277) on the performance and the results of Hebb-Wagner polarized cell measurements on Na-beta-alumina reveals certain misunderstandings as to the fundamentals of the used method. Since this to some extent influences the obtained results and their interpretation, the questionable topics will critically be discussed in the following.
