Formation of Copper Hydride During Epsilon-Brass Dissolution with Hydrogen Depolarization - X-Ray-Diffraction Analysis
During spontaneous dissolution of epsilon-brass with hydrogen depolarization dezincified layers appear. An identification of phases of the solid products of the dissolution by means of X-rays diffraction analysis was carried out. Among the solid products of the dissolution a separate phase of copper hydride, similar to that found during the spontaneous dissolution of beta- and gamma-brasses, was found.
