Changes in the Structure of AgI-Agpo3 Around the Glass-Transition Temperature
Neutron diffraction experiments were performed on the superionic glass AgI-AgPO3 in the temperature range 293-403 K. We report preliminary results on significant changes in S(Q) in the range 2-6 Angstrom(-1) as the temperature exceeds T-g. Corresponding changes are observed in G(r) in the range 3-5 Angstrom. The changes are believed to be connected to temperature-induced rearrangements of Ag ions in the structure. The first sharp diffraction peak at the low Q-value of 0.7 Angstrom(-1), which indicates significant intermediate range ordering is, however, unaffected by temperature.
