Ionic description of intercalation in LixMn2O4 system
The influence of intercalation on the lattice energy and configuration entropy of a LixMn2O4 crystal is discussed in the paper. Conclusions have been drawn which permit the ionic description of intercalation. On the basis of statistical thermodynamics and the Born-Haber cycle the change of the Gibbs free energy has been calculated. The OC voltage of the Li/Li+/LixMn2O4 cell has been estimated as well.
