Examples of the Development of Balances for Physicochemical Measurements in Controlled Atmospheres
The principles which underlie weighing by comparison of the object’s weight against standard weights or against forces of different origins are briefly reviewed. The paper then discusses some self-compensating balances and the realization of free-floating magnetic suspensions for direct weighing or for coupling of an object to separate balance.
