In this paper, thermal analysis, X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy (XPS), etc. were used to investigate the thermal stability of potassium dinitramide (KDN). It was found that the thermal decomposition of KDN crystal conformed to the topochemistry. The decomposition product, KNO3, formed eutectic system with KDN and decreased the liquefaction temperature of KDN.
