Electroactivity in Poly(O-Alkoxyaniline) Langmuir-Blodgett-Films
Poly(o-alkoxyaniline) Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films were deposited onto indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass electrodes using the vertical dipping method. The electrochemical response of multilayer LB films was investigated by cyclic voltammetry which showed, in an acidic aqueous solution, well defined redox processes similar to those observed in films prepared by conventional methods. The film color changed with the applied potential and was related to redox and protonation-deprotonation reactions which lead to changes in the doping level and oxidation state of the poly(o-alkoxyaniline) films.
