Observation of Silanated Graphite Surface with Scanning-Tunneling-Microscopy
Silanated samples of highly oriented pyrolitic graphite were studied using scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM). The observed surface structure was different from the pure graphite surface. Due to the absence of artifacts and to the specific adsorption of biopolymers onto the conductive surface, silanization of the graphite surface is presented for STM experiments with biological objects.
