Conductivity and Stability of Polypyrrole Film Electrosynthesized on a Pbo2/SnO2/Ti Substrate
Electropolymerization of pyrrole was carried out on a PbO2/SnO2/Ti substrate under galvanostatic conditions. The stability of polypyrrole film in the ambient conditions was examined from its conductivity as measured via the four-point technique. The effects of pyrrole concentrations : electrolyte concentrations, temperatures and current densities on the conductivity and stability of polypyrrole films were also studied. The results indicated that the conductivity and stability of polypyrrole film increased with an increase in both the deposition time and the concentrations of pyrrole and electrolyte. Increases in both the current density and reaction temperature led towards a decrease in the conductivity and stability of polypyrrole film. The conductivity and stability of polypyrrole film increased with both an increase in the incorporation weight of electrolyte per coulomb and an increase in the degree of anisotropy.
