Thin Solid Films, Vol.258, No.1-2, 325-332, 1995
Preparation and Characterization of Poly(Octyl 1,2-(2’,2"-Dithienylacrylate)) Thin-Films
A new type of solution-processable conducting polymer poly[octyl 1,2-(2’,2 "-dithienylacrylate)] (PODA) has been synthesised. Thin films of PODA have been developed using spin-coating techniques. The atomic force microscopy image of the films is presented. The PODA thin films show a conductivity variation from 10(-8) S cm(-1), when undoped, to 10(-3) S cm(-1) after doping. Temperature dependence of d.c. conductivity of PODA films are studied. Dielectric behaviour of PODA films as a function of frequency, temperature and doping has been studied. The complex permittivity has been determined at frequencies between 1 kHz and 1 MHz and temperatures between 60 and 310 K for undoped polymer films and films doped with FeCl3.
