명반석의 이용에 관한 연구(III)-명반용액으로부터 gibbsite의 정출

칼륨암모늄 명반 용액중의 황산알루미늄이 암모니아가스 분위기에서 가수분해될 때는 반응이 2 단계로 진행되고 일차적으로는 알루미늄의 염기성 황산염이 생성되고 계속해서 암모니아가스를 주입하면서 교반하여 주면 알루미늄의 염기성염은 산화알루미늄 수화물인 gibbsite로 전위됨을 알았다. 이때 알루미늄 농도가 적을수록 또 반응시간이 길수록 gibbsite 중의 황산가함유량이 적어지고 명반용액중의 황산알루미늄 농도 9 %일 때 25시간 이상이 되면 황산기가 포함되지 않은 gibbsite를 얻을 수 있었다.
In the solution of potassium ammonium alum the hydrolysis of aluminium sulfate with ammonia gas was found to take place in two steps. In the first, basic salt of aluminium sulfate was formed. In the ensuing step this was transformed into gibbsite, one type of the aluminium oxide hydrate.
Experimental resultus showed that the gibbsite of the lower content of sulfate radical could be formed, the longer the reaction time and the lower the concentration of aluminium in the alum solution. In case with the alum solution 9 % a gibbsite practically free from sulfate radical was obtained in 25 hours of reaction time.
