Zeolite에 의한 염색폐수의 흡착에 관한 연구
The Study on Adsorption of Dyeing Waste Water by Zeolite
초록
국산 Zeolite 계열에서 흡착성능이 우수한 영일군 동해 산의 Zeolite를 이용하여 처리가 가장 복잡한 염색 폐수의 C.O.D. 흡착실험을 통하여 입상 활성탄과 비교하여 염색폐수 처리에 이용 가능성을 조사하였다.
Zeolite의 입도, 폐수의 초기농도에 따른 Zeolite에 의한 C.O.D. 흡착량을 시간별로 측정하여 흡착 특성을 고찰하였고, 평형에서의 Langmuir 식 및 Freundlich식의 상수를 구하여 그 흡착능력이 입상 활성탄과 유사함을 확인하였다.
또 온도 변화에 따른 흡착량 변화를 조사하여 흡착 활성화 에너지도 측정하였다.
그 결과 염색폐수의 C.O.D. 제거를 위한 2차 혹은 3차 흡착처리제로 안가의 국산 Zeolite를 이용할 수 있었다.
The Zeolite mined out of Yeoungill, Korea, was used to study the adsorption of C.O.D. in the waste water from the dyeing mill. The experiment was performed batchwise in a 500 ml beaker with 10 gr of adsorbents and 200 ml of waste water.
The waste water was agitated with the stirring speed of 100 rpm at a constant temperature. The amount of C.O.D. disappeared by adsorbent was measured at constant time intervals.
The effect of Zeolite particle size, initial concentration of C.O.D. in water on adsorption were investigated.
The kinetic study showed that the adsorption by Zeolite is known to be controlled by intraparticle diffusion and film diffusion.
Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms are found to be ploted on the straight line.
The adsorption quantity of C.O.D. on Zeolite at equilibrium is nearly equal to that of granular active carbon in about 10 mg of C.O.D. /gr of adsorbent.
Therefore, the Yeoungill Zeolite could be used as an economic adsorbent in treating the waste water of the dyeing industries.
