Improvement of electromagnetic coil's Q-value by ferric magnetic thin film
Alternating impedance increases rapidly at high frequencies because of the skin effect, and the coil's quality factor will be disadvantageously affected. In this paper, we propose that the quality factor can be improved by plating a magnetic thin film of nickel-iron alloy on the surface of copper wires. The improvement extent of the quality factor is found to be greatly affected by the composition and thickness of this thin magnetic layer.
