Reaction of ethyl hydrazino acetate hydrochloride with 1,3 diketones 1(a-d) gave Ethyl-3 (2＇-hydroxyphenyl) 5(p-substituted phenyl) pyrazol-1-yl acetate 2(a-d), which on saponification gave corresponding acids 4(a-d). The spectroscopy and antimicrobial activity of these compounds have been reported.
