Synthesis and characterization of NaGaTe2O6 center dot 2.4H(2)O: A new open-framework tellurite related to zemannite
A new open-framework tellurite, NaGaTe2O6.2.4H(2)O, related to the mineral zemannite has been synthesized and characterized. Similar to zemannite, the reported material contains 12-membered rings along the [001] direction. Unlike zemannite, NaGaTe(2)O6 .2.4H(2)O does not contain any face-shared octahedra thereby creating channels along the [100] and [010] directions. TGA experiments indicate that the de- and rehydration properties may be understood by taking into account the environments of the H2O molecules. [GRAPHICS]
