Quaternary (liquid plus liquid) equilibria for (water plus ethanol plus toluene+1,1-dimethylethyl methyl ether or 1,1-dimethylpropyl methyl ether) at the temperature 298.15 K
(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium tie-lines were measured for the two quaternary systems {x(1)H(2)O + x(2)C(2)H(5)OH + x(3)CH(3)C(CH3)(2)OCH3 + (1 - x(1) - x(2) - x(3))C6H5CH3} and {x(1) H2O + x(2)C(2)H(5)OH + x(3)CH(3)CH(2)C(CH3)(2)OCH3 + (1 -x(1) - x(2) - x(3))C6H5CH3} at T = 298.15 K and p(o) = 101.3 kPa. The experimental (liquid + liquid) equilibrium results have been satisfactorily correlated by modified and extended UNIQUAC models both with ternary and quaternary parameters in addition to binary ones.
