Completion of large-bore HP/HT wells
Completion of high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) gas/condensate wells historically has been Limited to techniques considered suboptimal compared with techniques used on lower-pressure and -temperature wells. These Limits have been driven by extreme wellbore conditions and resultant high stresses and difficult operating conditions. In developing the Elgin and Franklin fields, larger-bore tubing and associated equipment were used. Much of the completion equipment and techniques were developed specifically for and rigorously qualified for this harsh environment.
