Stokes shape factor and its application in the measurement of spherity of non-spherical particles
The Stokes shape factor and drag coefficient of non-spherical particles in laminar regime have been investigated for specially prepared particles in different shapes with a wide range of particle spherities from 0.2 to 1.0. Based on the experimental results, the relationship between the Stoke shape factor and particle spherity has been correlated. The correlation of the Stoke shape factor with particle spherity is applied to determine particle spherity and the spherities of 10 kinds of agriculture particles in different shapes are obtained.
