Supported lipozyme catalysed esterification of isosorbide and sorbitol individually with oleic acid is studied in a tubular recycle reactor which is packed with enzyme, silica gel and solid reactant. Isosorbide produces only monooleate while sorbitol produces both mono and dioleates during the reaction.
