Influence of particle size and density on the jet penetration length in gas fluidized beds
Measurements of gas jet penetration length in fluidized beds were performed by using a technique previously developed, to investigate the influence of solids properties and of nozzle gas and fluidization velocities. Results show that the lighter and the finer are the solids, the larger is the jet penetration length. A nondimensional correlation is proposed because the experimental findings are not properly described by literature correlations.
