Measuring the interfacial tension of polyamide/polyethylene and polycarbonate/polypropylene blends: effect of temperature
In this study, the influence of temperature on the interfacial tension for three polymer pairs (polycarbonate/polypropylene; polyamide/polyethylene-1; polyamide/polyethylene-2) is investigated. The interfacial tension is measured using the breaking thread method and the temperature coefficients are reported for each polymer pair. It is demonstrated that in all three cases, the temperature dependence is higher than predictions based on the Good and Girifalco equation differentiated with respect to temperature.
