The adsorption kinetics of the protein bee venom phospholipase A, to a smooth, planar metal oxide surface has been measured under controlled hydrodynamic conditions using optical waveguide lightmode spectroscopy (OWLS). Adsorption follows the generalized ballistic deposition (GBD) model, except at low bulk protein concentrations, where Langmuir kinetics are observed.
