To improve safety and productivity, this paper presents a methodology that integrates operation and maintenance. This methodology is detailed by developing an activity model, which identifies all the existing operation and maintenance activities and reorganizes them into a consistent arrangement. To illustrate the methodology and the developed model, a prototype system has also been configured. Finally, an exothermic reactor with toxic chemicals is used as a case study to illustrate the use of the methodology.
