Recrystallization textures of silver electrodeposits
The recrystallization texture of silver electrodeposits obtained from cyanide bath?, containing no additive were investigated. The textures of as-deposited and recrystallized specimens were determined from thr: pole figures, from which orientation distribution functions and inverse pole figures were calculated. The orientation components of experimentally determined textures were quantified using the Gauss distribution of ideal orientation components. The (111) + (115)(T), (100) + (221)(I), and (112) + (127)(T), (113) + (557)(T), deposition textures changed to the same (100) + (221)(T) recrystallization texture when the specimens were annealed. where subscript T denotes the twin component of the preceding orientation. The(110) deposition textures changed to the (root 310) recrystallization with its twin components. The evolution of recrystallization textures has been explained by the strain energy release maximization model, in which the absolute maximum internal stress direction in electrodeposits, sits due to dislocations becomes parallel to the minimum elastic modulus direction of recrystallized grains, whereby the strain energy release of the material can be maximized.
