On the nucleation of polyethylene at high supercoolings
Droplets of polyethylene have been crystallized over a wide temperature range from about 77 to 110 degrees C. The nucleation rates have been measured for a number of samples. It has been found that the nucleation rate remains constant with time for nucleation at temperatures between 80 and 105 degrees C; but that at lower temperatures nucleation accelerates and at higher temperatures decelerates as time passes.
