Engineering Enzymes for Bioorganic Synthesis - Peptide-Bond Formation
This paper describes recent progress in the development of novel enzymatic catalysts for bioprocessing, especially for peptide bond formation. Techniques ranging from chemical modifications and specific and random mutagenesis to phage display and catalytic antibody induction used to create novel and efficient catalysts are described. The advantages and drawbacks of each technique and future prospects in the field are discussed.
