세라믹 정밀여과막의 계면활성제 처리 효과
Effect of Surfactant Treatment on the Microfiltration Performance of a Ceramic Membrane

분리막의 투과 성능의 개선을 목적으로 계면활성제에 의한 세라믹 정밀여과막의 표면처리 실험을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 계면활성제에 의한 분리막의 전처리시 영향을 미칠 수 있는 막의 함침시간, 계면활성제의 농도 및 계면활성제의 종류의 변화에 따른 투과 성능 개선 효과를 측정, 분석하였다. 계면활성제의 농도가 증가할수록 투과유속은 증가하였으며, 또한 계면활성제 용액에 대한 분리막의 함침시간이 길어질수록 투과유속이 증가하였으나 그 영향이 계면활성제의 농도 변화에 비해서는 매우 약하였다. Triton X-100(®) 3 wt% 용액에 분리막을 1 h 동안 함침시킨 경우 계면활성제로 표면처리를 하지 않은 분리막과 비교했을 때 약 400%의 투과유속의 증가 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.
For flux enhancement of membrane separation processes, a ceramic microfiltration membrane was pretreated by a variety of surfactants. In particular, we investigated the effects of immersion time, surfactant concentration, and surfactant characteristics on the microfiltration of a microporous zirconia-coated alumina membrane when the membrane was pretreated with various surfactnts. It was found that the permeate flux increased significantly with the increased of surfactant concentration and/or immersion time, although the effect of the immersion time was much smaller than that of the surfactant concentration. In the case of the membrane immersed into the 3 wt% Triton X-100(®) solution for an hour, the permeate flux was found to be increased to about 400% compared to the membrane without the surfactant pretreatment.
