Thermic spraying is a modern technology for the formation of functional surfaces. The wide range of possible coating-materials, in connection with the fact that almost all solid and dry materials can be coated, opens up a wide potential of application for this technology. Of importance for power station engineering are the problem areas of erosion and corrosion, which occupy the first position. These two kinds of damaging and their elimination by the thermic spraying technique are presented theoretically as well as illustrated on two selected case examples.
