The authors introduce a coal consumption model based on a material transport arrangement for particles. Physical material properties, such as porosity and particle density besides the particle diameter, are taken into consideration. The model has been compared with the measured values for hard coal and brown coal. It appears that the model can be used very well for the consumption simulation of a broad coal band.
