New radical-molecule association compounds
The formation of two new association species, hydroperoxy-formic acid and hydroperoxy-acetic acid, are examined. These species have especially large binding energies of 12.8 and 18.6 kcal mol(-1), respectively. Because of this, the lifetime of the species with respect to thermal decomposition is found to be long. The chemical implications of such new species are discussed.
