Synthesis of Aluminum-Rich Mcm-41
The synthesis of MCM-41 mesoporous compounds with Si/Al ratios as low as 2 without observing the presence of octahedral Al in Al-27 MAS NMR is reported. FTIR spectra of chemisorbed pyridine indicated that MCM-41 materials in their protonated form exhibit both Bronsted and Lewis acid sites.
