The effect of catalyzing additives on sol-gel process of formation and on the properties of modified polysiloxane layers
The influence of additives that act as catalysts in polycondensation processes in diethylaminopropyl triethoxysilane has been studied. The porosity of the layers thus obtained is connected with the conditions of hydrolytic polycondensation. Adsorption capacity of polysiloxane layers depends on their porosity. Rate constants of hydrolytic polycondensation have been calculated using the Smolouchovsky equations.
