The quenching of porous silicon photoluminescence by gaseous oxygen
Oxygen gas reversibly quenches porous silicon photoluminescence. The rate and extent of quenching depends upon the photoluminescence wavelength used to monitor the quenching. The photoluminescence peak wavelength has been found to blue shift by 10 nm upon the adsorption of oxygen. The quenching of porous silicon photoluminescence by adsorbed oxygen follows parallel adsorption kinetics.
