Raman and extended X-ray absorption fine structure characterization of a sulfur-ligated Cu(I) ethylene complex: Modeling the proposed ethylene binding site of Arabidopsis thaliana ETR1
An ethylene complex of a thioether-ligated Cu(I) center was synthesized and characterized by Raman spectroscopy and EXAFS. Long Cu(I)-C bonds and low Cu-C vibrational frequencies reveal weak binding of the gaseous ligand.
