Real time pattern changing in atomic beam holography using phase shift by Stark effect
An electrically controlled phase hologram has been used to change the reconstructed atomic image on a solid surface. The second order Stark effect of the laser-cooled metastable Ne atom was used to induce the phase shift during the atoms passage through the hologram. By controlling the applied electric voltage, the reconstructed pattern was switched according to the induced phase shift.
