Lewis acid enhancement of the ionic conductivity of simple salts
The interaction of the strong Lewis acids, aluminum chloride or niobium pentaflouride, with several different lithium salts produces materials that exhibit substantial ionic conductivity. This result is attributed to significant charge delocalization in the Lewis acid complex with the anion and the formation of complex non-crystalline materials.
