Thermal properties of beryllium
The temperatures of transformation T-tr and melting T-m and the enthalpies of transformation Delta(tr)H and melting Delta(m)H were measured by difference thermal analysis and by anisothermal calorimetry. The results for the hcp-bce transformation of Be are T-tr = (1269 +/- 1)degrees C and Delta(tr)H = (6100 +/- 500) J/mol and those for the melting process are T-m = (1283 +/- 2)degrees C and Delta(m)H = (7200 +/- 500) J/mol.
