Noise resistance applied to corrosion measurements - V. Influence of electrode asymmetry
The significance of electrochemical noise measurements in cells containing two identical electrodes kept at the same potential has been clearly established. However, when the electrodes are of different materials or when a bias voltage is applied between them, it is not clear what information the measurement of the noise impedance yields. The purpose of this paper is to develop the theory of asymmetric cell measurements, and to compare the predictions of the model with experimental results obtained for four asymmetric systems.
