Continuous-phase equilibrium problem: Quadrature compositional characterization and asymptotic convergence
In this paper, the authors examine the fluid-phase and solid-fluid-phase equilibrium problems in order to determine whether there is an inherent resistance to the convergence of quadrature-based computations in general for phase equilibrium problems. Our findings suggest that convergence can be expected for fluid-phase equilibria in general. For the less familiar solid-fluid-phase equilibrium problem, convergence can depend on the postulated description of the solid phase.
